What I Should be Reading....
This month, my bookclub is reading The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. This is a perfectly good book, well at least it was the last time I read it. I read this one in 2004 in Ukraine; therefore, I feel no guilt about not reading it again for book club, mainly since we will go see the movie anyway, which will be like a refresher course. I kind of remember it, a young teenager gets killed and the whole rest of the book is her watching over her family to see how they move on after her death.
But lets be honest, all I did in Ukraine was read, anything I could get my hands on, even the HUMONGUS Forsythe Saga, and Dracula for the 5th time. I also read every single Sherlock Holmes novel and short story, so I may be a little muddled about the finer details of The Lovely Bones in particular. Oh well...
What I am Actually Reading...
I recently finished Season 4 of Dexter on Showtime, and since there is not other season for me to watch I started in on the books. I may skip over this one since it seems to be just like Season 1 of the series. But as far as I understand the subsequent books veer off of the tv series, so I may just skip on to the next one, since I already know all about the Ice Truck Killer.
So, someone sent me all six books in this series for the holidays, so I am about 100 pages into the first one Dark Lover. I had heard good things about this series online, and I will admit to having a thing for vampire romance books, but so far this one is kind of out there. I mean, firstly I have a problem with the main male character, a blind king of the vampires, that from all physical descriptions in the book, must be 9 feet tall and have more muscles than Mike Tyson in his prime. Let us not forget all the leather he is covered in. Honestly, if a man like that walked up to me, I would be more inclined to run away screaming than thrust my wanton breasts into his lap. Also, his name is Wrath, it might as well have been Fang. All of the other guys in the book have odd names also, like Rhage, and Torhment. Will I get through this book? Who knows...
