The Camera Saga...

Yesterday morning I woke up early and since I needed to post all of my assignments for the Harry Potter Knit and Crochet House Cup I thought I would take a bunch of pictures of my finished projects. I got everything ready, all in a little pile to wait its turn in the spotlight. The batteries in the camera died after the first picture. So then I went in search of other AA batteries. For some reason the ones in the remote would not work, but I finally found some and got myself all set up again to take the pictures.
That being done, I went in search of the camera cord to plug it in to my computer so I could upload the pictures. No dice, couldn't find it anywhere. I found every other cord we have in the apartment, but not the one I need.
Now this isn't too surprising since I am currently living in packing hell as you can see in the picture of my living room. Since moving day is May 29 and 30, there is crap all over the place.
Eventually I gave up looking for the cord because it has to be in a box somewhere and I have no hope of finding it until we unpack. So then I went to look for the bigger, nicer digital camera, thinking I could put the memory card from the small camera in there. Again, no luck, no camera to be found.
I finally gave up all together and took a few pictures on my camera phone and then had them sent to my e-mail address, which I then had to download onto my desktop, then upload them into flickr, then post them on ravelry. Look HERE and HERE if you want to see what I turned in so far in Herbology and DADA.
In other knitting news, I have cast on for a Candle Flame Shawl in some bamboo in an amazing slutty red color. I am already through one ball, only 3 more to go (or 750 yards, but who's counting). The bamboo is really great so far, but I am now thinking I need to order another needle cable from Knitpicks so I can fit all those stitches on there.

As far as real life goes, well we are finally moving to a bigger, less expensive apartment. It will be awesome to have two bathrooms again, since I believe strongly that men and women should not have to share a bathroom. J searched and searched for this new apartment, and I have to admit he did a pretty good job. Not often do you find a place with 500 more square feet that is  $400 less than what you are currently paying.
Our current apartment complex is going through extremes to keep us here though, but seeing as how the car has been broken in to and stolen, our apartment is across from a moving company that starts backing up big rigs at 6:00 am and the landscaping company mows the lawn at 7:00 am on a Saturday they would have to make us a pretty amazing offer. The first offer they made us was that we could have a garage for free for the first month of our new lease (the garages cost $200 a month). Then they called and told J that they would take $100 off the rent if we resigned. I asked him if he laughed at them. He said he told them that he would discuss it with me. I actually begged him to let me be the one to go over there and tell them to fuck off, but in a moment of great restraint for him, he wouldn't let me do it. When they called me I told them that we would be happy to resign, if they moved us into a 2 bedroom and 2 bathroom apartment and gave us the garage for the duration of the new lease for $860 a month, since that is what we are getting at the new place. Needless to say they stopped making offers, and I had a good laugh.
I have been working 70 hours a week for the last month and I am pretty sure I am going to die of exhaustion, but the money is good for once. J has been working nights again, so we are kind of like roommates right now.
As for getting pregnant, cycle 22 appears to be a bust, hello cycle number 23. Honestly, I am kind of getting tired of all of it, and have given some serious thought to giving up. But J is not ready to stop trying, so I will trudge along for awhile longer.

Ummm... Yeah

So, it's been awhile since I have posted anything. If anyone actually reads this blog, they probably think I have fallen off the face of the earth. Honestly, it kind of feels that way.
I got a new job at an LYS, which is fun, but I forgot how hard retail was. So now I am working two jobs, in addition to killing myself to get pregnant. So, in a nutshell, I am tired. I have been knitting though. The Central Park Hoodie got finished a long time ago and I have been wearing it all winter. I am contemplating selling patterns and stitch markers online, but I am wondering if I will have time for something like that. In addition to wondering if I will make enough money at it to make it worth my time.
Oh well, we shall see. I have to goal to take pictures of all my new stuff and get it up on ravelry, because my projects page is terribly boring without pictures. I also have a dog bed for Teply and a top down hoodie for me. I have not done a sweater pattern in quite a while, so we shall see how it goes.
Anyway, I will be better about updating, and not let 6 months go by before the next post, but I am tired, and busy, so we shall see.
